Over the last 40 years, I have personally played 70 golf courses along the Grand Strand. Sadly, many of them have come and gone. And many of them have undergone re-designs and turf grass changes. The modern Bermuda grasses are much closer in playing characteristics to the Bentgrass golfers from the north are accustomed to. After experimenting with Bentgrass, many courses have come full-circle and are using one of the many variations of modern Bermuda turf grass. You can hardly tell the difference (maybe less spike marks with Bermuda).
The courses that remain are all outstanding, but I've listed some of my favorites below. Click on the course name and you will be directed to its web site.
Enjoy your round!
